Careers

We are a nimble firm that has redefined the simple and cost effective delivery of high performance buildings with better health and comfort for the occupants. Our innovative strategies produce flexible, energy efficient designs that are significantly more affordable than the industry norm. Peter Rumsey founded our firm to be a small team of highly talented individuals, leaders who have pioneered innovations in green buildings, and the brightest young engineers from leading schools. Peter Rumsey and other Principal staff remain deeply involved in every project from start to finish.

We are based in San Francisco and post-COVID will return to our office. We value bright, creative engineers who are passionate about their work. We work with tech companies, developers of commercial buildings and multifamily housing, educational institutions and others. We are leaders in the design of decarbonized buildings, microgrids and net zero buildings. Some of our clients include Google, Workday, Greystar, The University of California, MIT, San Francisco Airport and Amy’s organic foods. We have worked with several affordable housing developers on projects that improve communities and the lives of tenants.

We value diversity and encourage BIPOC and women engineers to apply.
